ANNUAL MVISION ROUND TABLE: PERFORMANCE BEYOND PAST IRR
- 01 December 2011 19:00 - 20:30
- On Campus
Measurement and benchmarking of performance in private equity is an imprecise science. Valuations of portfolio companies are not readily observable until they are sold and therefore, measurement of a GP’s performance can be difficult and reliant upon a multitude of assumptions around timings and quantum of cash flows to investors. Furthermore, how does one benchmark a GP’s performance, especially when almost every GP claim they are ‘top quartile’? Also, how does one compare funds across different vintages, deal with differences in valuation approaches and moreover, identify which funds will be the future performers?
This year’s MVision Round Table will explore these questions and delve into how LPs identify which firms will be the top performers in the future. The event will convene a number of industry experts to offer their perspectives.
Panellists comprise:
Rob Thielen, Waterland Private Equity Investments
Carol Kennedy, Pantheon
Oliver Gottschalg, HEC Paris
Eli Talmor, Coller Institute of Private Equity
